Artist and Creative

Throughout my work I am interested in how time and emotion can be symbolised by objects. I enjoy the feeling that life can often seem quite surreal, and employ a playful approach in exploring its material possibilities.

A background in archaeology and a thirst for travel has informed my recent ceramic work. I keep constant sketchbooks of ideas and observations from my surroundings. Using clay and other everyday materials I am concerned with highlighting everyday cycles and rituals of both nature and culture.

Alongside my own investigations I like to work with other people and encourage greater participation in the visual and tactile arts. I have experience in running art workshops and community events and am always keen to think laterally with any challenge. Techniques used include ceramics, drawing, collage and recycled materials.
